Note: Bone pain is not the same as joint pain or muscle pain. Bone pain can be caused from injuries, arthritic conditions or other more serious reasons. Seek out prompt medical attention for correct diagnosis and proper treatment whenever you experience bone pain and tenderness.

Bone and joints pain have been dealt as a major subject in Ayurveda. Many herbal remedies are popular for the bone and joints relieves. The inflammation of joints can be effectively reduced with ayurvedic preparations and treatment. Vitiated ' VATA' is the major cause for pain in bones and joints.
                                                                                                                                      Many herbal preparations for bone and joint pain have been recommended in Ayurveda. Preparation of effective herbal oils for local application, which help to overcome pain are also illustrated. Here we have selected few preparations from classical therapies illustrated by CHARAKA,SUSHRUTA and VAGBHATA, which can be prepared at home very easily using the ingredients that are available on kitchen shelves. The formulae to prepare ayurvedic medicines at home will be provided for a very low cost in order to propagate the benefits of Ayurvedic medicines.

The Following Hearbs are used as Ingredients:-

1.       Nirgundi  leaves (hindi - samhaalu) (Bot- Vitex negundo) (Eng - Five  leaved chaste)

2.       Karanja  leaves ( hindi - Ditauri) (Bot - Pongamia pinnata) (Eng - Indian beech)

Method of preparation :-                                                                                                             
Collect  fresh leaves of Nirgundi and Karanja. Tie them in a thin cotton cloth to  form   a  big ball . Boil this leaves' ball in water and when it is tolerably  hot  apply this on affected part. When the leaves become cold reheat them by putting  the leaves' ball in boiling water. After  half an hour take out the leaves from ball , grind them to a paste and bind it on affected area.
